Vega

Artist Vega lived and travelled all over the world before settling on the Isle of Lewis in the 1990s. From here she learned to sail, build and maintain a boat, and live at sea for months at a time. During this time, she began signing her paintings 'Vega' out of respect for the vessel that carried her safely for hundreds of miles.

In her paintings, Vega creates images which evoke experiences, ideas, and emotions from the life and memory of the viewer. She firmly believes once her paintings are finished, they are no longer about her but how they inspire others' feelings and imaginations to play freely.
