Douglas Roulston

Douglas Roulston was born in Glasgow in 1984. He achieved a BA (Hons) followed by a Master of Fine Art from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in 2008, where he was greatly inspired by the work of 19th century Romantic artists and their depictions of areas like Glencoe and Loch Katrine. In 2013, Douglas obtained his PDGE in Art and Design which he now teaches in the East of Scotland as well as working as an artist.

Douglas uses a combination of oils, acrylics, and charcoals to capture the intensity and majesty of the Scottish landscape across this striking collection of prints. He likes to incorporate imaginary elements from Scottish myths and legends into his paintings, and has a talent for exaggerating elements of light through turbulent skies and over wild waters.
